What is the Chinese nominal age?

It is the traditional East Asian way of counting: a newborn is already one, and everyone gains a year at Chinese New Year instead of on their birthday. Someone born the day before New Year turns two at one day old. The calculator follows the real lunisolar calendar, so the extra year lands on Chinese New Year itself, not on January 1.

How does a February 29 birthday work?

In years without a February 29, the age here ticks over on February 28 — the convention most laws use — and in leap years the real birthday returns. The days lived and the next-birthday countdown are always counted against the actual calendar, so nothing is lost or doubled.

Can I find an age on a past or future date?
