Client-Side Processing for Image Privacy
When applying watermarks to your images, privacy and data security are critical considerations. This tool processes your images directly in your browser. Because the entire watermarking operation occurs locally on your device, nothing is uploaded to BroBroGo.
This client-side approach ensures that your original photographs, proprietary designs, or sensitive documents never leave your local system. It also eliminates the upload and download wait times typically associated with server-based tools, allowing for immediate processing of your files.
Supported Image Formats and Batch Processing
The tool is designed to handle standard web image formats for both input and output. You can upload and process JPEG, PNG, or WebP files.
Batch Processing Limits
You can select and process up to 20 images at a time. If you attempt to select more than this limit, the tool displays the error message: "Choose up to {max} images at a time." The interface tracks your selection and displays "Selected {count} image(s)" to help you manage your batch.
Format Conversion Options
By default, each processed image keeps its original format. However, you can force the output to a specific format using the "Output format" selector. The available output options are:
- Keep original
- JPEG
- WebP
- PNG
For JPEG and WebP outputs, a quality slider is available to control the compression level of the final file. This allows you to balance image fidelity against file size.
Format Restrictions
- HEIC Files: iPhone HEIC photos cannot be processed directly and need to be converted first.
- Unsupported Files: If you select an unsupported file type, the tool displays: "Only JPEG, PNG and WebP files are supported."
- Corrupted Files: If a file cannot be opened, you will see the error: "This file could not be opened as an image. It may be corrupted, empty, or not actually an image."
Watermark Types: Text vs. Logo
You can choose between two distinct watermark types depending on your branding or protection needs.
Text Watermarks
A text watermark is ideal for adding copyright notices, creator names, or status indicators (such as "DRAFT" or "CONFIDENTIAL"). When using a text watermark, you must enter a text string. If you leave this field blank, the tool displays the error: "Enter the watermark text first."
You can customize the text using the following properties:
- Font: Choose between Sans-serif, Serif, or Monospace.
- Color: Select any custom color.
- Text size: Adjust the size as a percentage of the image dimensions, restricted to a range between 2% and 20%.
- Style: Toggle Bold or Italic styling on or off.
Logo Watermarks
A logo watermark allows you to overlay an existing graphic, such as a brand icon or corporate logo, onto your images. The logo file must be a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image. If you upload an unsupported file type as a logo, the tool displays: "The logo must be a PNG, JPEG or WebP image." If you select the logo option but do not upload a file, the error message "Choose a logo image first." is shown.
You can adjust the logo size using a dedicated scale slider. For the best visual integration, a transparent PNG logo is recommended, as it allows the background image to show through the empty spaces of your graphic.
Customizing Placement, Opacity, and Tiling
Once your watermark content (text or logo) is set, you can configure its appearance and placement on the target images.
Opacity
You can adjust the opacity of the watermark between 5% and 100%. Lower opacity values make the watermark semi-transparent, ensuring it protects the image without completely obscuring the underlying details.
Position and Margins
By default, you can place the watermark in one of nine grid positions:
- Top left
- Top center
- Top right
- Middle left
- Center
- Middle right
- Bottom left
- Bottom center
- Bottom right
An edge margin slider allows you to control how far the watermark is offset from the outer boundaries of the image. You can also apply a rotation angle between -45° and 45° to tilt the watermark.
Tiling
If you enable "Tile across the image", the watermark repeats diagonally across the entire surface of the photo. This is highly effective for preventing unauthorized cropping or editing. When tiling is active, the standard position and edge margin settings are ignored.
Managing the Watermarking Workflow
The tool provides a structured workflow with real-time feedback to help you process your images efficiently.

- Selection: Choose your source images. The "Add watermark" and "Clear" buttons remain disabled until at least one image is selected.
- Preview: A live preview displays the watermark overlay on the first image of your batch. The preview area also displays the image's dimensions, file type, and file size.
- Execution: Click "Add watermark" to start processing. If the process fails for an image, the tool displays: "Watermarking failed. Try another image or output format." If only some files in a batch fail, you will see: "
{count}file(s) could not be processed." - Download: Once processing is complete, you can download images individually using the "Download" button, or download the entire batch at once as a ZIP archive using "Download all (.zip)".
Please note that watermarking overlays a visible mark only. It does not remove EXIF, location, or other metadata from the file, and it does not prevent someone from copying the image.
